We absolutely loved our stay at this traditional Japanese house. the hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful, going above and beyond to make our trip stress-free. the location was convenient, with a nearby bus stop and easy walking distance to the yellow pumpkin and Benesse Terrace Bar. the house itself was sparkling clean and comfortable, providing all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. We especially appreciated the hosts' hospitality towards us as female solo travelers, including helping with our luggage and providing transportation when needed. their warm and friendly nature made our experience unforgettable.

Our stay at Tsumuya was absolutely fantastic. The house we stayed in was beautifully furnished and had all the amenities we needed, including a fully stocked kitchen and a washing machine. The Japanese bath was a wonderful touch, and the sitting room filled with books related to the arts festival added to the unique experience. The location was also ideal, with a quiet atmosphere despite being near a small fishing harbor. Living in a traditional Japanese home was truly exquisite.
Although there were a few minor drawbacks, such as a limited selection of kitchen utensils and thin toilet paper, these were easily overlooked in light of the overall excellent experience. The lack of Wi-Fi and TV actually added to the charm of the place, as we were able to immerse ourselves in the art books provided and enjoy the peacefulness of the surrounding area.

The apartment at Tsumuya in Naoshima was cozy and comfortable. The bedroom was perfect to relax after a long day of sightseeing. The air conditioning kept the room nice and cool, which was a relief in the hot summer weather. The kitchen was well-equipped and the balcony offered a great view.
The only thing I didn't enjoy as much was the bathroom, which had both a shower and a bath. Personally, I prefer just a shower.

Our stay at this charming fisherman's cottage was a truly unique experience. The location, in front of a tiny port, provided a picturesque backdrop for our evenings spent watching the sunset. The hosts were exceptional, picking us up at the ferry terminal and providing us with useful tips for exploring the island. The room was spacious and decorated with a combination of traditional Japanese decor and retro furnishings. We loved browsing through the extensive collection of art books, which enhanced our appreciation of the island's art projects.
The toilet could benefit from further updates.

The house was located in a quiet area and was very spacious. We really appreciated the pick-up and drop-off service provided by the hosts. The homemade bread and fruits for breakfast were delicious.
The kitchen could have been better equipped. It would have been helpful to have larger bowls.

We had an amazing 3-night stay at Tsumuya house, which we loved so much that we even extended our trip. The hosts, Akkie and Kinunori, were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The house itself was sparkling clean and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We also appreciated the close proximity to Tsutsujiso beach and the free shuttle bus stop for the museums. The tasteful decorations and art books added a special touch to our experience. We couldn't have asked for better hosts or a more delightful stay.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.
